How to Be Engaged As Spring Break Is Around the Corner

Avery McLaughlin

I know what many of you may be thinking: what is the point of this assignment when all I can think about is how I am going to be laying on a beach or in my bed in a few weeks? Why are there so many tests and assignments? The want to slack is strong as second semester is among us and Spring break is just around the corner. However, I will admit I am one of those people. Yet, there are some things I do to try and keep myself engaged in my school work as distractions come. The first thing I try to do is change my study space. Whether that is at the library or my favorite coffee a shop, a change of scenery helps me to feel productive. Another thing I try to do is stay organized and make myself lists of what needs to be done. By making this list, it helps me remember and prioritize certain tasks. Finally, my last way to stay organized is to ensure that school time/free periods are used wisely as a time to do my work and talk to teachers. By using this time instead of talking to my friends the whole time or doing other things, I find that it helps me to feel more accomplished and procrastinate less outside of school because I know the work is done. So if you are feeling in a slump, try maybe give these pointers a try! Let's stay in this next week and a half together and finish out strong!
