I choose not to watch awards shows, and that comes as a shock to many. But my reasoning is personal because the hype and excitement surrounding who wins is all false. The political side to awards shows has the entire night pre-planned and winners chosen based on networking and politics versus whom actually deserves to win. The entire process is manipulated and rigged, so watching awards shows no longer holds the wonder I previously experienced. I hope in my lifetime this goes away, because I would love to truly have winners based on merit and/or votes, versus a larger system behind the works.
